Shady Town
1994
This series is inspired by the works of Edward Hopper.
The images where taken on a road trip following the Mississippi river northbound, from New Orleans to Memphis, Dallas and back to New Orleans.
I really wanted to create beautifully composed images with an amazing use of colour.
To achieve the exact look I wanted I shot the whole series on very sensitive black and white film. These where then coloured in by hand.
This series has been awarded with the Silver PANL award.
