This series came to be after my girlfriend had left me.
I went by myself on the holiday to Greece we originally had planned together.
I wanted to create something bright in these dark times but after I shot these images there was also a certain kind of empty feel to these shots.
Although Santorini is a beautiful place it just felt like something was missing which was exactly how I felt at the time.
This series has won a Merit AOP award in 2003.
